Mark Skidmore
University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
Department:
Economics
Professors: Respond to evaluations by creating an account
Professor Skidmore's class was the most boring class I have taken thus far. He has no enthusiasm and literally reads the notes off the powerpoints word for word. Going to class was absolutely pointless. However, he was very organized (sometimes a little too organized) and his tests were reasonable, but overall I would NOT recommend him.
You must attend all of his classes or you will start to get behind. Almost no assignments, tests cover everything he's taught in class and nothing else. So if you attend class you should be able to pass.
Positive:
Good professor.
Great teaching methods/approach
I would recommend this professor
Negative:
Comes in everyday with a complete set of notes that he writes on the board and explains. Uses a lot of graphs and tries to get people involved by using real world examples and asking fairly simple questions. The exams are multiple choice and short (2-3 sentence) essay. He incorperates a helpful online program called Aplia which has graded assignments that are reviewed in class the day after. He can be boring when he just writes and lectures all day though.
Positive:
Good professor.
Motivates students to do well
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Professor is boring or bland
