Matt is laid back but VERY passionate about his job. He loves teaching and if you put forth the effort, you will learn TONS of stuff from him. He is also very accommodating schedule-wise. The only slight problem is that he talks a LOT, so you don't play much in your lesson (he tells good stories though!) but he will go over (timewise) in your lesson to make sure you cover what's necessary. He is chronically late to just about everything, so that's something to get used to, but he will always find time to help any student who asks.

I had him for Jazz lab. Very flexable. Some of us couldnt make the shedualed time so we changed it. Great man

Matt is the awesomest sax teacher ever. He tends to talk a lot and loses track of time, and my hour-long lessons often end up being 55 minutes of talking and 5 minutes of playing... after which, he is sure to give out more assignments than I could possibly complete in a week if I practiced 8 hours a day (so I don't run out of things to work on). He knows a damn lot about saxophoning though, and if I ever have a question or need someone to critique my playing and tell me how it is, he's the guy. He's funny and friendly, and he rocks my block, and come on... he's bald and jewish. What more can you ask for?
