Meifang Xiang

I had her for Theory, and unfortunately was in the "Bad" section. All we heard about all semester was how much better the other section was. As a student, when she started doing this, I lost what little respect I had for her. She is very hard to understand and have expectations that I still do not know what they are. She tries to make class interesting, but useless stories or Japanese videos just don't do it for me. I put "Challenging" as a positive, but she is challenging mainly because you can understand her or follow what she tries to do in class. Good luck if you have her. Hopefully you will be in the favored section, because if not, you will hear about it all semester and the favoritism will show in your grades. Maybe another teacher will pick this class up for everyone else's sake.

Accounting 244 is a hard class, mostly if you are going into it with no interest or background in the subject. Xiang is a nice lady, but it is hard to know if you should take notes or listen. I worked by butt off and ended with a C

Assumes you know what is going on. You either have a chance to copy the notes or listen.

Loved her! She gives TONS of handouts that may seem overwhelming at first, but come time to study for the exam you'll be glad you have so many practice problems to review from. My suggestion for those who have never taken an accounting class before; read the chapters. Accounting is hard. That's just the way it is. If you keep up on everything you will be fine. With all of the extra credit she gives I was 7 points away from a perfect score in her class, and that was my first accounting class!

She may be a little hard to understand, but she definately knows what she is talking about. She is one of the most brilliant professors i have had so far, and she makes class interesting. She has a genuine interest in making sure you understand the subject matter so she makes her own handouts. For the most part the questions you get on handouts are similar to the test. I would highly recommend taking her class!
