Allsen is sweet. He tells you exactly what will be on the test. He gives you an outline of the notes he will be showing in class for you to take notes on(he basically has it filled out for you, all you have to do is fill in a sentence or two a class period). He gives you a detailed study guide for the tests also. He is the best professor i have had

Unless you have an absolute love for music, I wouldn't recommend him for anything. I took SLAM as my diversity credit, and skipped most class sessions. IT WAS SO BORING! He doesn't take attendance and the last 4 weeks is just watching class presentations (your "final" is a 5 min. presentation) Easy, but SUPER boring, and if you don't study, you won't fare too great on his exams.
