I had him for my honors class and compared to my friends with different professors i had it easy! He'll let you hand in papers over a week late with no penelties and he makes class interesting. He tends to pick on people if they're not particpating but he just likes discussion. Do all the homework and you'll be fine.
I took World of Ideas over a three week summer course and it was great! I learned so much. He really made us think and I have a very thought out perspective of my duties as a citizen now that I have taken his class. He gives you the test ahead of time and has you write papers ahead and do some short essays in class. I really enjoyed the class! He does challenge you, but also will pull a good discussion out of the class.

Negative:
Professor Longrie is a great teacher. If you look over the materials, participate in lectures and make him laugh you'll get a B with now work. He can be a tough grader on exams. Their are 2 exams and you must do a presentation but thats with partners and is very easy and can be done last minute. You may have a quiz here or their and answer some questions on the books you read..... If you can write 3 - 5 page papers you'll get an "A" hands down.

Negative:
I found him to be very funny. I learned more in this english class than I have in any of my english classes in the past. He may pick favorites, but it is the people who PARTICIPATE. If you come to class unprepared and CLEARLY aren't trying then of course a professor of any kind might not like you as much as someone who is participating and prepared. He does make jokes about students, but they aren't to upset people. Just learn to laugh at yourself and not take things so seriously and you could end up having a good time. He made learning fun for me.

Best professors I've ever had!
Negative:
Confusing or hard to understand
Expectations are unclear or lofty
I originally didn't have him as a teacher, but he is the professor that took over, he belittles his students...he has a couple of favorites but the rest of the class gets picked on and he thinks he is smarter than everyone else. He does know his stuff, but he makes it much more confusing than it has to be. I would say don't take him if you don't have too.
