It's not that the assignments or tests are really difficult, but it was the closest I could find. The problem is that there is tons of homework and it's hard to keep up with everything. I worked on my homework every night and had problems keeping up. But on the other hand, it is also really necessary to have a lot of practice in order to fully learn the vocabulary and grammar.
There is a lot of homework, but I have never learned so much Spanish as I did from one semester in her class. I definitely plan on taking classes by her again!
Positive:
Good professor.
Is interesting/entertaining/funny
Is challenging
Is willing to help students anytime
Shows a love of teaching
Shows a great knowledge of subject matter
Has enthusiasm in the classroom
Comes to class organized
Best professors I've ever had!

Her exams come straight from the study guides. If you go to class, read the material and do her guides, you'll be fine.

Negative:
I have no idea why anyone would have bad things to say about her! She is a great teacher. This is one of the only classes that I DON'T want to skip. The test is comprised of all the examples from class so there are no surprises when it comes time to take the tests. There is a lot of homework and since you have class pretty much every day it can be a bit much but it DOES help you succeed in the class and the worksheets are one page long which shouldnt take too much time as long as you are understanding the material. All the homework is due at the test date which means if you dont do the homework assigned for the next day she wont really notice. Suck it up she's the only teacher offered, go to class, review the examples and you should do great.

Negative:
I had her for Spanish American readings, let's just say, if it is the only class you have to take that semester, you will be fine, because every day of your life for that semester will be spend doing ridiculous amounts of homework that are not even worth point wise in her class for the amount of time you spend on it. She assigns homework like it's going out of style...completely ignoring the fact that you may or may not have other classes. Her expectations on tests are straight from her ass, because you could summarize and quote from the books and stories and she will still say that you're not being specific enough. Also, she holds double standards. It's great how she can come to class 10 minutes late every day, especially on days of tests and then have the nerve to rush YOU along when you're trying you best to take your time to pass...and she lectures about how it's the student's faults that she's behind in teaching because she goes off on her tangents about social injustice from the 1970's.
