Although she gives difficult tests, she is one of the best teachers I have had. I have taken many different classes she taught so I could learn more than with other professors.

Dr. Poorman was very kind, and very devoted to domestic violence causes. She was a tough teacher, but I learned more from her than all the other professors put together. When I got an A from her, I knew I worked hard for that grade! She was very creative in her teaching style and I will miss her. Thanks for everything Dr. P!

Dr. Poorman was the best professor I have ever had! She was fun and really got you thinking about things that normally you wouldn't think of. She will truly be missed. My love and prayers go out to her family.

I loved her as a person, she's interesting and enthusiastic, but as a professor--she sucks. She didn't give grades or feedback for assignments until the last class, so we had no idea if we were on the right track. She has extremely high expectations, but doesn't give you any direction or advice. It seems like the more you go to your office, the more she likes you, but it didn't work for me. Good luck, maybe she'll pick you as her pet, but I worked hard, read, did the assignments, went to class and barely passed. DO NOT TAKE psych 486.
