Dr. Melero is an awesome lady. She's great at bringing discussion to the classroom and you can tell that she cares about her job. I learned a lit from her class and it wasn't too difficult. I would recommend her for anyone whose taking Spanish or needs to fulfill a diversity requirement.

She's a decent professor. Lectures are very directed toward the hispanic kids in class. She basically talks to them for the whole class. She is also kind of hard to understand at some points because she tends to talk very fast, and she just keeps going, so it is hard to know what you missed.

I'm a Spanish major and Prof Melero is one of the easier Spanish professors I've had. That's not to say I didn't learn anything. She's a great teacher, enough said.

Pilar is perhaps the best teacher I've ever had. She's always willing to help, and she really wants you to do well in her classes. If you're getting an A in her class, you don't have to take the final; this is true in all of her classes. It's really quite easy to get an A as long as you put forth a little effort. I didn't speak any Spanish before I took her, and I got an A no problem. She's funny and very friendly. You'd be doing yourself a real disservice if you didn't take her.

She's a funny, intelligent person. Only problem is I think I enjoy her more as a person than a teacher. I personally must learn Spanish based on immersion into the language. She does not immerse you. She speaks in English most of the time and when she does speak in Spanish, it's extremely fast. I wouldn't mind extremely fast Spanish if it were enough for me to be immersed, but it never was. Everyone learns differently, so maybe she'd be perfect for you. But you're just a boring loser if you can't at least enjoy her as a person. :P
