Dr. Avellenaeda is probably the most controversial teacher i have every had. He is also probably the best and hardest teacher i have ever had. He doesn't care wheather you like him or not, he cares that you learn spanish. Afterall that is what you are there for. I learned more spanish in his class that i did in 5 years of training with other teachers. I too will not lie his class is reallly hard. However, you will come out a world better. His class is great because of his teaching methods and becuase it is not just about spanish he teaches you about the world and whats going on. You may not agree with some or any of the things he says but you must go into his class with an open mind and discover or challenge things for yourself. He knows something about everything. Either way you will learn something. His class makes you think on so many different levels. Be warned this class is not for the faint of heart and if you are an average student like me do it to learn spanish and enrich your life, don't just do it for the grade. He will even tell you himself it's not about the grade.
