Positive:

Professor is boring or bland
Okay, if Ben Stein taught a music class, this would be it. Prof. Fellows is worse than Ben Stein, he's like the adult version of the band geek that got shoved into lockers in high school. I thought his lectures were bad, but then I saw his tests. THIS IS AN INTRO CLASS? I bet even some music majors don't know how many pieces Joseph Haydn wrote. Plus, he always starts class like 2 minutes early. Here's the kicker: He is trying to appeal the department to turn this into a 3 credit class, which totally voids it as an Arts GA requirement! He's insane! If you haven't read on music history your entire life, don't take this class. He gives F's even after required attendance and taking all the tests. I don't think he even applies a grading curve! And what's worse, he doesn't have to give out teacher evaluations because he's on tenure! DO NOT TAKE HIM, he is like the ANAL OVERLORD OF NPR PLAYLISTS!
Positive:
Has enthusiasm in the classroom
Comes to class organized
Negative:
Professor is boring or bland
Confusing or hard to understand
Expectations are unclear or lofty
Overly difficult tests or assignments
Notes/lecture is confusing
Makes class too challenging
Poor sense of humor
Professor does not relate to students
Worst professors I've ever had!
He is an awesome guy, he tries hard, he is knowledgable. However it was a cold blade of experience that also killed our class. He expects your to memorize all the key figures from the eras, the types of music, and he plays examples of music as part of the test. If you have trouble in any shape of telling what certain classical music parts are in a song don't take this class. If you expect to learn from Robin Fellows don't take this class. If you can read and teach yourself that is about 70% of it. In class he will play the other 30%, the songs which you need to know on the exams. Do not skip, its attendance based, he gives the assignments then too, and the music pieces he plays ARE ON THE EXAMS. I came to every class, turned in every assignment, took the exams and got a D. Why? Because Fellows doesn't know how to relate to the class at all, only to other music pros. If you have music as a major and understand the inner workings of music you will do better. Btw I used to play violin and sax, and still got a D...
