Steven Sahyun

Sahyun is overall a good person. However, he sucks at teaching! Class examples are nothing like examples on tests/exams. He doesn't prepare students enough for exams. Classes are boring, and sometimes, it seems like he's talking only to himself when he does problems on the board. When you go in for help, you'll leave out more confused. He doesn't answer your questions, but go around it and starts talking about something else which is going to confuse the CRAP out of you.

I really really liked this guy. I had him for the physics for the elementary school teacher class. At first, you can get really frustrated with him because if you ask a question, he will NOT give you the answer. Instead, he will help you find a way to figure out the answer on your own. While ALOT of kids in the class got so mad about this, it really does make you remember the answers when you do it on your own like that. Although the class periods are long, the time goes by pretty fast with experiments and class discussions. BE PREPARED to talk out loud about your ideas many times every class. At first it's weird, but you get comfortable with it. There was like 3 tests and a final, plus homework almost every class period, but they are super easy and really quick. Also, he gives alot of EC opportunities. Overall, he is such a nice, nerdy guy. You can tell he is really smart and knows the material. He offers help sessions and is always willing to meet you outside of class for help. PLUS, he often starts class with riding his unicycle, juggling, or doing other entertaining things. I got an A in his class so it wasn't that bad. I really liked him and the class and I think that if you go into the class with an open, positive attitude, you will too!!

Really learned a lot and felt that the class was rather enjoyable. He doesn't give straight answers, but makes you figure them out which can be frustrating.

THe class teaches a lot of important concepts, but the homework and work in class is the same everytime class meets, gets boring fast!

He's pretty good. Sometimes class gets really long, but almost every class has an activity involved, and they are usually good. He is sometimes confusing, but overall it was a decent class. Not too hard, but I did learn things.
