Tammy French is the best professor that I have throughout my time at UWW. She is extremely passionate about what she does, and it shows through what she does. Her class work is appropriate to the level that you are in. There are no presentations in 228 or 321, and in 228 there aren't any huge papers. In 321, there is a research paper, but she builds it up throughout the semester, so it isn't that time consuming or overwhelming at the end. If you take the two classes at the same time, they coincide with each other pretty well and you get some repetitive information, which I felt was nice for understanding everything. There are reading pop quizzes every so often, but as long as you write down vocab and main ideas, you will get a 10 every time. Her tests are not difficult, as long as you fill out the study sheet and review it once or twice, it is simple to get an A. Tammy engages students in interesting lectures everyday and makes class interesting and fun. TAKE HER, you won't regret it!
I just wanted to post something on here about her speech classes to help you out.. she's a good teacher but for a speech class it was pretty hard.. i wouldn't recommend taking her unless you're willing to put in that extra effort.. i got an A, but lets just say i only missed like one class & tried wayyy harder than i feel i should have had to for a speech class. she also takes mandatory attendance every day, so make sure you're never planning on missing!

Tammy is a cool, down-to-earth person. I think she's a good professor- every class had great open discussions. She sticks to the syllabus which is nice since you know what she expects up front. She's always happy to help students, and while her tests can be a little tough, this is college! Just follow the study guides and you'll be fine.

Would not recommend this professor
I can't understand how anyone could not enjoy Tammy. She is one of the most personal professors on campus and is willing to go the extra mile to help her students. She even helped me outside of class via recomendations for employers and even some scholarships. She wants her students to succeed. Is she challenging? Yea. But this is college and you are supposed to be challenged. This class was entertaining, challenging and very valuable. I would take Tammy for this class and any other. Hands down.
