William Sargeant

Having taken both math 148/149, I felt like I really re-learned a lot of the basics just from another perspective. I can't say that math comes easy to me but if you do the work in his classes you will get a good grade and I aced both courses. He comes across as a bit awkward and some people interpret this as him not knowing what he is doing BUT he really knows what he is talking about. People get distracted by things that are not essential. Do your work and you will succeed. I promise! And yes, he will help you if you don't get it. Just don't be shy to ask! Be assertive!

What you go over in class is much easier that what appears on the tests....PLUS he is so gosh darn picky!!! If you mess one thing up you lose all of your points which is absolutely ridiculous. I would not recommend this professor.

He's a great guy and a great teacher. He relays the information well and if you have any problems understanding it, he is always there to help. Also, if something happens (like being very sick) he will work with you to set a day where you can take a test that you missed because of being sick. I would definitely take this prof if he taught more math classes after this one.

In this class, the lectures are so boring. I fall asleep all the time. The class itself is easy, but his explaining makes it more confusing than it needs to be.

Prof Sargeant does not know what he is doing, at least in this course. His assignments were unclear at times along with his lectures. If you aren't very good at math to start with I wouldn't recomend this teacher.
