Xiao Zhang

As most of the other comments have stated she is impossible to understand, and it is impossible to know what she wants. She told our class that we all had terrible design skills and half of us were seniors! We aren't paying for a program that we can barely learn anything from. I learned more from other students or online tutorials than from her.

How to explain Xiao... Well, I am pretty sure she doesn't know anyone's name, and it's almost the end of the semester. She always refers to everyone as a "he" which is entertaining, and also makes strange noises like "ding ding ding ding." I had to buy a flash book to teach myself the program because she always gives you the most complicated way to do things. I think she likes me, but I don't know how other people survive. When we had to hand in an assignment and she wrote down our grades on the sheet of paper, some people got C's, some B's, one person got a -2, and other people got X's and chinese symbols. What kind of grading method that is, I'm not exactly sure. I would be very confused if I had received an X for a grade. She is always yelling "COME TO CRASS, and COME TO CRASS ON TIME," but never makes it on time to her own class on time anyways. She is always asking "DO YOU THINK THIS IS BEAUTIFUL? IS THIS BEAUTIFUL? DO YOU LOVE IT??" If you don't suck at graphic design and can figure most of the stuff out for yourself, you'll be fine. It'll be a decent class for learning flash and if you have any kind of sense of humor, Xiao can be entertaining (not on purpose.) I'm assuming all the people on here bitching probably suck at graphics anyways, because at least Xiao knows good work. It's kind of like, having a Chinese teacher with a broken accent who has some kind of amnesia problem.

sadly, if your a multi minor or major you are forced to have this professor. she is by far the worst and any student i've talked to that has had her feels the same way. i even know people that tried to get her fired but she has her 10 year...who knows how. the only reason she gets a D on coolness is because it she is easy to make fun of.

i cant say enough good things about this woman. she is really nice and smart and offers a lot to the department. at the very least she has a possitive outlook. i had her for 3d animation and it is by far the best class i had my entire time at uww

This woman needs to be fired. I never had her in a class, yet. But she unfortunately is my advisor. I called twice and sent her about 7 emails over 3 weeks to set up a time where i could talk to her and never got a response. I finally called the art office on a wed and got a reply on saturday morning WTF!!! she calls me at 8 and asks if i can meet her at 9. I told her i was still in bed but i could see how soon i could get there. When i asked her what her office number was, she gave me some number like 4320. I straight up told her, there is no 4th floor in the the CA and that's where you are right? she responded w/ a yes and then gave another bs number to me then said that she was going to check. If the dumbass can't figure out her office number how the hell is she supposed to advise me on what classes to take for my LIFE CAREER? So i went in for mandatory advising and obviously i had questions. Half of the time i was there, she was out asking other professors the questions i had asked her. She basically told me i needed to take some canned classes and quickly scooted me out. She was very unpersonable and seemed to not give a shit about me. I have nothing good to say about this woman and i've talked with her twice. What an ass.
