Yamin Ahmad

I had to take this class for my MBA. Mind you, this is two years after I graduated with my BBA, but I did take econ classes before and did very well. This is just different. He starts "teaching" right away like everyone is already supposed to know this and it's just a refresher. He goes the ENTIRE 3 hours and 25 minutes of class every time. He does not use D2L, rather some 3rd party website. There are NO due dates for anything, so when I asked at the beginning of the semester, he said "typically something will be do every other week, since it's an 8 week class". So far, nothing has been due on schedule. There are 3 classes left, and we still have 2 problem sets and a final exam due. He randomly picks a problem number from the set to make due, and doesn't tell you until the day before. He doesn't respond to e-mails and is very unhelpful. I would not recommend him unless you seriously know and love macro economics. Ugh.

Great guy. Amazing teacher. He is very good at conveying a lot of information in an easy to understand way. You will learn a ton from taking this guy. He's interesting and shows a passion for economics. Smartest guy I know. Although be warned, his tests are difficult.

Prof Ahmad is the one of the best professors I've had over the past two years. The concepts are difficult, but thats the more the class than the teacher. His exams test your knowledge in terms of concept application rather than regurgitation of formulas. He's a great teacher. Show up, take decent notes, and you'll get an A or B. If you don't understand the material, and don't take the time to learn it or go in for help, don't expect to do so well. Overall, Amazing Guy.

If you go to class and take notes, its a good class. The tests are open note, but you do have to know how to apply the concepts. He has a lot of office hours, use them.

Prof. Ahmad is a economics genius. He deffinitly knows his stuff and will help you whenever you need it. Easy to talk to and can relate to students. Pretty good grading method. Tests are mult choice 2 larger short answer questions that are at times really difficult. In fairness you get to use notes and book on exams and he provides you with the resources you need to succeed in his class, just put in a little effort and youll learn econ rather than struggle and learn nothing like with other profs.
