Music 191 with dr. arm was so easy. I went to class once and all the tests and I got an A in the class.

Arm is a great professor. This class is a pretty easy A. Arm really loves teaching and that becomes apparent after only one lecture. This is actually one of the most relaxing classes I've taken at Uconn. Overall Arm is the nicest guy, an easy grader and he gives you a lot of chances to get an A+ in this class.

This class is so insanely easy, and the guy is probably the most cheerful professor i've ever encountered at UCONN. The only thing I dislike about the class is it can be very boring at times. A great teacher though.

this class is pretty easy, i got a 90 on the first test, 84 on the second and 86 on the third. I just studied the night before. I did two extra credits and got an A in the class. Half of the exams are listening, so you have to be able to identify songs by listening to them. If you don't get the song, you can't answer the questions.

Professor Arm makes this class so interesting. He brings in his violin at times and plays pieces which is way better than listening to it off a cd. He also allows extra credit. I got an A with my eyes closed.

Music appreciation was a good class. Not difficult material, and if you do the extra credit, you are guaranteed an A. No surprises on the test, and comfortable auditorium seating. Take this class as your ARTs gen-ed.

If you need to take an easy gen-ed, take this class with Dr. Arm. I went to class about 5 times and got an A-. All I did was read the notes online and listen to the music, and I did one easy extra-credit assignment. Also, if you're looking to pick up some extra credits without having to do the work, I highly recommend this class! Arm really makes an effort to make students do well; I think he actually realizes that most students take his class because they have to, not because they have an interest in music, unlike some of the other teachers I have heard about. Highly recommended!!!

If you need an easy gen ed take MUSI 191. You never have to go to class because all the notes are online. The tests are taken directly from the notes, so all you need to do to get an A is read the notes online and listen to the music selections a few times and your good. Even if you don't do well on the exam he gives mega bonus points for doing a really simple extra credit assignment. Bottem line: Very Easy A

This class is a joke. All of the notes are posted online and each exam is 100 multiple choice questions... all worded exactly from the notes. You only need to go to class the first day and the 3 exams, read over the online notes the night before the exam a few times, you'll get at least a B+... it's that simple

Easy to get a good grade in this class, very difficult to attend. I split the lectures with a friend and got a B+. The extra credit is well worth it! Not a bad cass at all

copy down the notes at the end of class and study the notes and songs before the tests. each test is 50% percent of your grade and he gives extra credit by going to concerts and plays and writing a review for them.

Boring but easy gen. ed. If you get the notes from a previous student there is NO NEED to attend his class so I would suggest doing that for your A.

The best part of this class was professor Arm dancing around to the classical music. He's pretty much in his own little word for the entire class. During the last 5 minutes he would put up notes on the overhead and that was all you needed for the tests. However, it's a lot of information and the tests aren't very easy for an elective.

Is really boring but makes up for it by the ease of the class. I went to almost every class, took the notes, and studied for 2 nights out of the semester. I ended up with an A-. If you can't get a B, you should quit college.

Failed the first test, got a C on the second test and A on the third test and ended up with an A- for the semester. Realized that majority of students were failing so he considered each person with the highest grade would get 50% of that grade.

when i took music 191, all noted were online. i went to class 4 times, the first day and the three exams and got an A. now you just have to go, copy the one page of notes he puts on the overhead, and memorize those. if you cant get at least a B+ in this class, you seriously suck.

Since he doesn't put the notes online anymore, just go to class, sleep until the last 5 minutes, and then copy the 8 or so sentences worth of notes on overhead. When exams come up, listen to the music a few times the nite before and read all your notes over 5 or 6 times and if you have half a brain you should end up with A

i would say this class falls pretty much in the mediocre range. subject matter is pretty interesting but he certainly is not a lecturer and does enjoy pointing out his juliard education. some parts of his exams are tough, but its probably one of the better ones to take to get your arts class out of the way

I truely liked Arm. I thought he was a great teacher in the aspect that he loved the area he taught in. He was so into music that just by listening to him talk with such compassion, you were interested. I think the class was easy. He gave you enough breaks. He put the notes online. The tests were word for word from the notes. He described the music to you, he played in enough. Yes, although I did not go to class all the time because it tended to fall asleep and I thought it was very rude, especially to a teacher that loves what he does. If you need to take a gen-ed in the theatre make sure you take music 191 with Arm. He can be boring but he is a great guy and I think I actually appreciate classical music a little more now.

Dr. Arm is a great professor. He teaches the class because he loves the subject, not because he has to - and it shows! Granted, he's better with an instrument than with lectures, but give the guy a break...no one expects you to be perfect with everything. His tests are not hard. If you go to class and spend an hour or so studying the night before the exam, you'll do fine. If you don't go to class, then don't complain when you don't get the A. My recommendation - take the course, go to class...get your A.

The easiest class I've had this trimester (asides from FYE)... Seriously, I didn't go to class for three weeks... and I aced the exam... anyone who thinks this is tough probably shouldnt be in college....

I went to meet up for extra help and to look at my test. I had called early and he said to go Tuesday before class. I went and he was too busy to help me. He said to come on Thursday and yet again too busy to help me. He can kiss my ass.
